Boney M star rushed to hospital after car crash on way to prison

Boney M legend Liz Mitchell has been rushed to hospital after crashing her car on her way to visit her jailed brother. Liz drove into a ditch on the A47 on Friday while travelling to Whitemoor Prison in March in Cambridgeshire.

A source told The Sun: "Liz was shaken after the smash, but she fortunately escaped serious injury.[1] That section of A47 has a reputation for being dangerous and it could have been much worse." A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police said: "We were called to reports of a collision at 11.37am on 13 July on the A47 at Thorney Toll.

"One vehicle was involved and was found to be in a ditch. The driver, female, was initially trapped in the vehicle but was extracted and a male passenger managed to get out. Officers and paramedics attended the scene. No serious injuries were reported. The road was clear at about 1.20pm."

The East of England Ambulance Service said they sent an ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle, adding: "One woman was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further care." Liz's brother hired a former British soldier to execute a rival preacher to take control of their radical mosque.

He was jailed in 2016. Rashad recruited Iraqi War veteran Leslie Cooper to gun down Abdul Hadi Arwani with a MAC-10 machine pistol. He wanted Mr Arwani dead following a bitter dispute with him over the running of a mosque.

Former soldier Cooper lured the preacher to his death by arranging to meet him in Wembley, north London, in April in 2015. Mr Arwani, 48, was sitting in his car as Cooper pumped bullets into his chest at close range. Rashad, 62, and Cooper, 37, denied murder but were found guilty by an jury earlier this year.

They were later jailed for life with a minimum term of 32 years before either can be considered for parole. Rashad, of Wembley, claimed police planted the PE4 explosive and a handful of bullets.

He claimed he had been approached by MI5 to spy on his fellow Muslims and insisted he had no idea how the material got into his shed. But an Old Bailey jury found him guilty.
