A19 and A66 to close overnight next week in multiple locations

Two major Teesside routes are set to be closed overnight next week.

The A66 and A19[1] will both be closed overnight at some points next week as major road works get under way. Resurfacing works will be continuing on the A19 southbound between the A1027 and A1046, which have already been ongoing since last Sunday.

New road works on the A66 include gulley and drainage works on the Teesside Park Interchange, drainage works at Sadberge and horticultural works on the B6541. All of the closures are taking place overnight between 8pm and 6pm - here is a list of all the details.[2]

A19 closures

Where: Southbound, between the A1027 and A1046

When: Overnight from Sunday, July 16, to Wednesday, August 23. Works will take place between 8pm and 6am from Sunday to Friday

Reason: Resurfacing works

More details: Full Road Closure (Diversion routes signed on-site via A1027,A177,A1305, A1046). These are ongoing road works.

A66 closures

Where: Teesside Park Interchange, Stockton, on the A66 westbound entry slip road

When: Monday, July 24, until Tuesday, July 25. Works will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am

Reason: Gulley/drainage works

More details: Road closure (diversion via A66EB and u-turn at Newport Interchange)

Where: Sadberge, on the A66 westbound entry and exit sliproads

When: Monday, July 24, until Tuesday, July 25. Works will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am

Reason: Drainage works

More details: Road closure (diversion for entry slip involves an A66[4] EB-WB u-turn at Long Newton[5] Interchange)

Where: B6541, on the A66 eastbound entry slip road

When: Tuesday, July 25, until Wednesday, July 26. Works will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am

Reason: Horticultural works
