Some major roads in Essex will be closed this week due to road closures and roadworks. Plan ahead to make sure you don't get stuck in traffic caused by roadworks, as the county's roads have become busier again as we enter the summer season.

It can be very frustrating to end up in traffic jams at roadworks which you could have easily avoided, especially if you're in a rush and hadn't checking the traffic situation in advance. This week we've got roadworks on a number of roads across Essex, including overnight work on the A12 in a number of locations.

Making sure you know what to expect is crucial, especially if you're heading on a slightly longer journey than usual, so it's worth checking diversion routes once you're aware your route will be impacted.
