A PROPERTY developer is expecting "a high level of interest" from prospective tenants for an industrial site it has snapped up close to the Port of Cromarty Firth.

Ark Estates property investment and development company believes the location of the 0.8 hectare site close to the heart of the freeport and the A9 is ideal to meet future demands.

Managing director Willie Gray says renovation work is under way to enhance the existing warehouse with trade counter at the Castle Avenue Industrial Estate Invergordon site with plans for a new solar power system and insulation.

He said: “The building would be suitable for a range of industrial uses and in terms of having a strategic location, being adjacent to the new freeport and close to the A9 trunk road, it really couldn’t be better. We expect a high level of interest from prospective tenants."

IBI Joiners of Inverness have been engaged for the revamp using "sustainable building techniques and materials and energy efficient heating and power systems to bring the building into the 21st century".

It's scheduled to be complete by the end of July.

A number of supply chain companies are understood to be eyeing the area in preparation for the expected levels of activity after Opportunity Cromarty Firth consortium won the bid.

Japanese cable manufacturer Sumitomo has plans for the construction of a £200m factory at Nigg, expected to play a role in the development of renewable energy infrastructure as the country targets net zero.

ARK Estates, established in 2003, leases property from its diverse portfolio which includes retail, commercial, industrial and residential premises across Scotland.

Mr Gray, a former Dingwall Academy pupil, has been involved in property management and services for more than thirty years.
