M5 live updates as lorry crashes off carriageway in dramatic crash

There are huge queues on the M5 near Tiverton following a dramatic crash involving a lorry. All traffic has been temporarily held following the collision on the southbound carriageway.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has confirmed that a lorry has left the carriageway but the driver is out of the car.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix is reporting: "Queuing traffic and one lane closed due to accident, a lorry and a van involved on M5 Southbound from J27 A361 ( Tiverton ) to J28 A373 Honiton Road ( Cullompton / Service Area). Travel time is 15 minutes. Camera shows no traffic was passing around 13:05 until 13:15."
