Fire engine and two cars in crash on major Scunthorpe road

A fire engine and two cars were involved in a crash on one of Scunthorpe's busiest roads.

It happened on the A18, at Mortal Ash Hill. Three people were taken to hospital, though thankfully their injuries were minor.

The road was closed in both directions[1] following the crash. Now, police are appealing for dashcam or CCTV footage that might help their investigation.

The collision happened at around 4pm on Tuesday, June 13. In a statement, Humberside Police[3] said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a three-vehicle collision on Tuesday 13 June. At around 4pm two cars and a fire engine are believed to have been in collision on the A18, Mortal Ash Hill, Scunthorpe[4].

"Three individuals from the vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries following the incident. We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 372 of June 13."
