Salisbury Train Station: Police issue update on incident

At around 6.30pm, police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Churchill Way North in Salisbury.

The train line was closed for more than three hours as a result of the incident, as well as the A36 between Castle Street roundabout and St Mark's Roundabout.

The lines reopened at around 10.43pm, and the incident was safely resolved.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 6.30pm yesterday, we responded to an incident regarding a concern for the welfare of a man in his 30s. The incident was safely resolved.”

Network rail response vehicles were seen at the junction of Hamilton Road and Marlborough Road.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "A crew and the aerial ladder platform from Salisbury along with a technical rescue team from Eastleigh were called to Churchill Way North, Salisbury to assist police and ambulance colleagues with an incident."

Rail passengers were advised that one bus had been confirmed to take them between Salisbury and Andover, but other passengers were advised to book their own taxis.
