Overnight closure of A429 due to serious crash

The A429 Fosseway in Gloucestershire has been closed overnight due to a serious crash between a car and a motorbike earlier today (Sunday 14 May, 2023). The road has been blocked in both directions since the dsmash which happened at about 1pm today.

Traffic has queued on the road throughout the afternoon and into the evening causing delays. The incident took place near the junction with Fosscross Lane, close to the Stump Pub.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary[1] said: “The A429 remains closed between Cirencester and Northleach this evening. It will stay closed for several more hours while enquiries are completed into the collision.

“We cannot give any further details on the collision than the below at the moment as family members are still being contacted. A car and a motorbike collided on the A429 near The Stump Pub at Fosscross just before 1.15pm today (Sunday 14 May).

“Diversions will remain in place while a collision investigation is carried out. Please avoid the area if possible,” he said.
