Man assaulted and knocked unconscious on West End Road

The victim was punched in the layby by the cemetery on West End Road on Sunday night.

The incident happened just after 7pm.

Police officers investigating the attack say it occurred after a road rage incident between Hedge End and West End on the B3035.

It involved a white or silver SAAB.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson said: “Were you in the area at the time? Do you have dash cam footage or did you witness the assault?
