Recap: A358 near Ilminster cleared after lorry overturns

There was heavy traffic on the A358 near Ilminster this afternoon (May 16) due to an overturned lorry. Police say it flipped on the route heading towards Taunton near the A303 junction.

Drivers were told to plan ahead of their journeys in the area as delays are likely. The crash cleared and traffic returned to normal by around 5pm.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "Traffic returned to normal and all lanes open, accident cleared on A358 Eastbound at A303 (Southfields roundabout)."

South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing said on Facebook: "Officers are currently dealing with an overturned lorry at the Ilminster roundabout with the junction for the A358 towards Taunton.

"Please take extra care when travelling down this road as delays are likely."
