Three vehicle crash closes Whitehaven road as emergency services …

A crash involving three vehicles led to a road in Whitehaven[1] being closed in both directions. The incident took place on the A595 close to the junction of Mirehouse Road at around 5.47am this morning (April 14). A Ford Focus, Seat Ateca and Seat Ibiza were involved in the collision.

Cumbria Police[2] and Cumbria[3] Fire and Rescue Service attended. The road was closed in both directions as motorists were urged to use alternative routes where possible. A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Police and Fire are currently dealing with an accident on the A595 close to the junction of Mirehouse Road in Copeland.

"Please use alternative routes where ever possible to avoid any further congestion and delay in the area."

A spokesperson has since confirmed that no injuries have been reported following the crash.
