‘I tried a new cooking device that’s so much faster than my oven’

Discovering new and faster ways to prepare food for my hungry kids is always a priority.

They love baking with me but hate waiting for the treats to cook. Baking a cake in the oven can easily take 30 minutes, so I was intrigued to try a new device that promised a faster cooking time.

The Rem oska Tria 3-in-1 Oven-to-Table Electric Cooker[1] has three options for lids depending on what you want to prepare.

I was slightly dubious the casserole-shaped dish could bake the ingredients but was left pleasantly surprised.

A spokesperson said: “The 4.5-litre cooking pot provides a capacity of 3 litres and is coated with three layers of high-quality non-stick coating, making it easy to clean and also dishwasher safe. Its smart design allows it to be carried straight to the dining table for serving guests when dinner is ready, and it can also be used on any hob (including induction).

"The Remoska Tria is incredibly thrifty with electricity, making it ideal for easy and economical cooking at home. However, it is also a great travel companion and perfect for boating holidays, motor homes, caravans, and holiday cottages, where access to a 240-volt electricity supply is available."

Below is my experience of cooking with the varying lids:

Baking lid

Baking lid

This lid has an attachable cable used for baking cakes and bread. We used it to make muffins and within 15 minutes the treat was golden on the outside and soft in the middle.

The lid helps the ingredients from drying out and this is billed as adding flavour to your baked goods. Our muffins were exceptionally moist and packed with flavour.

Soft-pressure lid

This option transforms the pot into a device that has a similar impact on ingredients as a slow cooker. I made a stew in around 20 minutes, and the vegetables tasted just as soft as if they had been cooked in my slow cooker for the day. It also boasts a pressure valve that makes stovetop cooking faster than normal by increasing the pressure within the pan. Just like steamers, this style of cooking doesn't take away the nutrients from food.

Glass lid

I used to this prepare some soup, it boasts silicone edges that keep the steam inside, helping the dish to heat faster and taste better.

The Remoska Tria 3-in-1 Oven-to-Table Electric Cooker is available from the Remoska UK website for RRP £219.99. It is currently on offer for just £169.99.[3]
