Recap: Air ambulance called to M6 as biker dies in fatal collision

Emergency services are at the scene of a 'serious collision' which has seen part of the M6 closed. The southbound carriageway between Junction 11 at Cannock and Junction 10A for Wolverhampton has been shut this morning.

And National Highways has confirmed that the M54 eastbound between Junction 1 and the M6 is also shut due to the incident. Inrix, which first reported the incident at 8.40am is reporting congestion on the A460 Cannock Road as motorists look for alternative routes.

A Tweet from National Highways confirmed Central Motorway Police Group are at the scene. It states: "The M6 southbound between J11 (Cannock) and J10A (Wolverhampton) is closed due to a serious collision. CMPG are now on scene. The M54 eastbound between J1 and the M6 is also closed due to this incident. There are 15 minutes of delays approaching the closure."
