Police are appealing for the public’s help after a crash involving a bicycle and a police car.

Officers were responding to a call when the car they were driving was involved in a crash[1] on Prittlewell Chase near Southend[2] Hospital at around 2pm.

The cyclist has been taken to hospital[3] with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "The collision remains under investigation and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision or may have any CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us.
