Child and woman taken to hospital and road closed by police

Pyle Street in Newport has been closed to cars by Isle of Wight police this lunchtime (Saturday).
UPDATE at 3.20pm: The road has now reopened[1]
A campervan has been involved in a collision.
Officers were called at 12.23pm.
Police say two pedestrians, a child and a woman, have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is stopping cars from turning onto the road towards Carisbrooke, at its junction with St James' Square.
The other end of Pyle Street, between Coppins Bridge and Santander, remains open.
Police say they are awaiting for recovery vehicles to reopen the road.
