Park City police vehicle hit by semi-truck while assisting crash on US Highway 40

A Park City police vehicle was hit by a semi-truck while assisting on a crash along US Highway 40. According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden, a Park City officer pulled over to check out a crash on the left shoulder of US 40 eastbound at milepost 7 around 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

Roden said the police car was struck by the trailers of a semi-truck that was allegedly traveling eastbound who had lost control of his vehicle.

Despite a medical precautionary response to the scene, neither the officer nor the truck driver were transported by ambulance, according to Roden.

The officer was taken to a nearby hospital by another officer for evaluation and minor injuries.
