Hundreds of Evri parcels stolen from warehouse and wheeled away in cages

Hundreds of parcels were stolen from a warehouse in Stockport before being wheeled down the street on wooden pallets and in cages. The packages, the majority of which were Evri deliveries, were stolen from a courier warehouse on Lingard Lane last Friday night (January 6). Enquiries so far have suggested the theft occurred at around 7.30pm, with several hundred parcels snatched.

They were then placed in several transportation cages and a wooden pallet and wheeled away through the streets of Brinnington. It is believed the items were moved between 8-9:15pm. An estimated GBP20,000 worth of parcels have already been recovered by police and are in the process of being delivered back to Evri.

Seven individuals aged from under 18 to 55 have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods. Those who are expecting a parcel which has not yet been delivered are being urged to contact the courier service involved directly about this. Greater Manchester Police are encouraging anyone in the area between these times on Friday to check their dash cams and any residents with CCTV or video doorbells to check for footage. Particularly those driving or living around Lingard Lane, Middlesex Road, The link and Lapwing Lane areas.
