New jobs at expanded multi-million-pound alcopop warehouse
An increase in demand for drinks such as Hooch, VK, and Franklin and Sons has led to plans being announced for a major, multi-million-pound expansion of a warehouse in Derbyshire. In addition to the added capacity for alcopops, the larger operation will create around 30 new jobs. However, it's the numbers surrounding the planned expansion, which has already started, that are truly mind-boggling with GBP2 million being spent on the project.
Once complete it'll allow the company, Global Brands, to increase its capacity from 30 million bottles to 40 million, spread across 17,000 pallets. Extensive groundwork has already started at the site in Clay Cross with the steel frame being erected over the course of the next two months. A concrete slab base will then be poured with the entire project expected to be complete in January 2023.

"This is just the first phase in work to continue increasing capabilities at the site over the next two years.
We plan to continue investing in our Global Brands Distribution Centre to the point where we can eventually hold one product for every person in the UK." The expansion follows an increase in demand for the products within the Global Brands organisation. Those brands include so-called alcopop drinks VK and Hooch, alongside others including Amigos Tequila Beer, All Shook Up, Shake Baby Shake, and Kick Energy.
