Customers evaluate fully electric Volta Zero prototype in Europe

Volta Trucks handed over the keys to a Volta Zero design verification prototype to purchasers in the brand's European launch markets. End users were able to experience the new zero-emission medium-duty truck for urban logistics first hand on proving grounds in Paris (France), Madrid (Spain) Milan (Italy), Selm (Germany) and Millbrook (UK) - and gave their reviews of the full-electric vehicle. More than 1,500 test drives were completed by various organizations and international media.

Their feedback has been documented and will be integrated into Volta Trucks' future product roadmap. Meanwhile next-generation production verification prototype vehicles have been produced at the company's contract manufacturing facility in Steyr, Austria.

In other news, Volta Trucks has extended its earlier Series C funding round from February 2022, with an additional EUR60m (US£61.9m) capital raise, on top of the previous EUR230m (US£237.3m). The round, which was supported by all current investors, brings the total investment into the company to over EUR360m (US£371.4m) to date.

Douglas Snyder, chairman of the board of directors of Volta Trucks, said, "At Volta Trucks, we have a very loyal, engaged and future-facing cap table of investors supporting our journey. Nobody has done what Volta Trucks is doing before, and this needs significant investor confidence and trust in the company vision, strategy, business case and ongoing deliverables. The extension to our Series C funding round gives us further positive external validation of our journey, and our pre-order book gives us confidence from our customers that we are developing a product that the market needs."
