San Diego Man Identified As Person Found Dead Near Santa Clarita Truck Stop

A San Diego man was identified after being found dead near a truck stop in Castaic earlier this month. 

Daniel Havey, 65, from San Diego was identified as the man found near the truck stop, said Sarah Ardalani, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

At around 6:45 p.m. Thursday Nov.

11, deputies received reports of a person in need of medical assistance near a truck stop on the 31000 block of Castaic Road in Castaic, according to Sgt. Robert Gonzales, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, at the time of the incident. 

“There was a dead body,” Gonzales said. “It looks like it was a medical emergency.” Havey’s identity was released once his family was notified of his death.
