Coca-Cola teases huge Christmas truck tour for 2021

Coca-Cola has confirmed that the Christmas truck tour will be returning to the UK this year after a series of cryptic messages left on their social media platforms. Last year’s annual event was cancelled due to coronavirus restrictions, but the touring event is due to make a comeback this year. Although official confirmation is yet to be made by Coca-Cola bosses, a series of cryptic messages have been posted online to build hype up for the festive event.

The truck normally visits more than 40 locations around the UK, although, with a later than usual start date expected for this year, it is unknown whether some cities will miss out.

If you look at previous schedules for the last three touring years, the truck had already begun its journey across the UK by this time. In 2019, the tour began on November 15, the third Friday of the month, which is only two days away this year. In 2018, festivities began even earlier on Friday, November 9, and on Saturday, November 11 in 2017.

  • 2016: Friday, November 25
  • 2017: Saturday, November 18
  • 2018: Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25.
  • 2019: Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23

In 2015, the truck did not visit Bristol but instead visited Gloucester, Swindon and Yeovil instead. When approached for comment, a spokesperson for Coca Cola said: “we are still working our magic on this year’s Christmas plans.”

They also added: “We will be announcing the Christmas plans city by city” but declined to share to any specific details with us.

The cryptic messages left online

Coca-Cola GB has been leaving cryptic responses on social media that all but tell Christmas fans news of its journey is imminent. In response to one woman tweeting: “Patiently waiting for the Christmas @CocaCola_GB truck tour to be announced…” The drinks giant replied: “Keep your eyes on our socials…”

Replying to another post, Coca-Cola wrote: “We’re just recruiting the last of our reindeer…” Another concerned fan asked: “So not even a clue if it is coming back?” But Coca-Cola replied: “Holidays are coming…” with a Santa Claus emoji sure to send followers into a frenzy.

Other hints include the brand writing: “We’ve spoken to Santa and he seems pretty eager to us.”

Some fans are saying they will put up their Christmas tree on the day it is announced.
