Lorry spotted crossing narrow bridge with weight limit in Bath
The juggernaut was seen making its way across the Batheaston toll bridge, which has a four-tonne restriction, on Friday (May 28).
There are signs on both the Bathampton and Batheaston sides of the crossing, making clear that HGVs should take a different route.
A large blue lorry was spied going across the river in a northeasterly direction and a local man managed to photograph its progress.
Lorries have been spotted in other unusual places around Bath in recent weeks, following works to the Cleveland Bridge and the advent of the Clean Air Zone.
Last week, two HGVs in as many days got stuck on Pennyquick Hill, near Newton St Loe – causing traffic chaos. It was suggested at the time that they were trying to reach Warminster Road without going through Bath.
