Narrow escape for driver as truck knocks pylon in US

A driver had a lucky escape after he narrowly avoided being hit by a falling electricity pylon in Brunswick, Ohio, last weekend. The incident happened at the crossroads of Center and North Carpenter Roads last Sunday, after a commercial truck failed to lower its boom after dropping off a dumpster at a local business. The boom caught utility wires and a pole snapped off coming down into the roadway narrowly missing a vehicle.

Police praised the actions of bystanders who intervened to ensure nobody was hurt in the incident. “A HUGE SHOUT OUT to Exurb Towing whose employee helped notify the drivers to stay in their vehicles and then blocked off the road. “Another motorist in a white pickup truck blocked traffic as well until police and fire arrived.

“An alert citizen came to the scene and helped prevent a bicyclist from riding over a live wire.

Great job by everyone involved in helping out!!,” Brunswick Ohio Police Department said on Facebook.
