Truck carrying Easter flowers crashes on Route 22, causing traffic delays

A tractor-trailer carrying a load of Easter flowers crashed and rolled Thursday morning on Route 22 in Dauphin County, officials said. As of 9:15 a.m., Route 22 East’s right lane is blocked at the underpass near the Front Street/Fishing Creek/Rockville exit, according to 511PA. PennDOT spokesman Fritzi Schreffler said the tractor-trailer is mostly on the shoulder and traffic can get by using the left lane.

However, she said the eastbound side of the highway will have to shut down at some point so the tractor-trailer can be towed away. Schreffler said PennDOT does not know how long traffic will be affected, because road crews are waiting for heavy tow equipment to arrive at the scene.
