Live: Road in Bulwell closed after ambulance hits pedestrian

A road in Bulwell has been closed in both directions due to what police described as a 'serious collision' involving an ambulance and a pedestrian. Officers said Low Wood Road was closed between the junctions with Sellers Wood Drive and Hempshill Lane. They were alerted at 6.30pm on Sunday (December 22).

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "The pedestrian has been taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre for treatment for their injuries. The extent of those injuries are not yet known." The road is likely to be closed for some time.

In a tweet, Nottinghamshire Police added: "Please find alternative routes whether on foot or any means of transport. Thank you for your co-operation, we will keep you updated." Buses are diverting.

Nottingham City Transport tweeted to say its Yellow 68 and 69 services were unable to serve Low Wood Road.

"Yellow 69 will use Hempshill Lane to U-turn and serve Armstrong Road towards the city," NCT tweeted.
